First Copy - Case Study Xerox 4100

Wed 2nd February 2022

Situated in Peterborough, GP Print has 30 years of printing experience. A First Copy customer for 15 years, the family-run company creates custom promotional products, t-shirts and personalised gifts and has in-house design professionals as well as print specialists.

"Why be conventional when you can stand out from the crowd?' they ask, 'with GP Print, you can let your imagination run wild!' The company's socials are a riot of colour and imagination; you can find them on Instagram here, showcasing everything from brownie packaging to promotional items.

Yesterday's installation of a Versant 4100, which joins their existing Versant 2100, will bring even better quality print for the team and an extended range of stocks, including heavier-weight media perfect for bespoke packaging.

When it was launched in October last year, as an evolution of the previous Versant models, the 4100 boasted new and improved 400gsm duplex abilities (up from 350gsm on the 3100). It also brought more automation, Xerox PredictPrint Media Manager and Xerox's Full-Width Array (FWA) technology.

Print quality was the critical requirement for GP Print when looking to upgrade its devices this year, and with 2400 x 2400 dpi resolution, the Versant 4100 can deliver it.

“We have been using FCC for many years now - don't think it is possible to put into words just how fantastic they are for us. They have supported us through the good times and the bad times. Never have I had the pleasure of dealing with such an easily approachable company. The after sales service is beyond any we have received from any other company.” (Google Review left by GP Print in June 2021).

First Copy was delighted to carry out the install and continue our partnership. As May rolls into June, our production analyst has been busy installing several new devices across the region, and there is renewed optimism in the industry. Many of our customers are printing crucial documents and other items to support key workers and the Covid-19 vaccination programme - including GP Print. The print industry has played a critical role throughout the pandemic and will continue to do so.

At First Copy, we love to get involved in the local business community and look forward to two sculpture trails in East Anglia over the next two summers. We are also delighted to say that we are booked for the next Peterborough Biscuit, where First Copy (and our sister brand for office technology, FCC Innovation) will be an Associate Sponsor in 2022. It will be fantastic to network in real life again (all being well with the current Government roadmap).

Back in 2019, Tabitha Martyr, a Director at GP Print, was nominated for the UK's inaugural Women in Print award. We think this was very well deserved and reflects the company's creativity and positivity. The team at GP Print has an enviable crop of 5* reviews across their channels, praising their professionalism and customer service across jobs big and small. Here's to many more with their new device!
